Hand Held Export

 

 

The Sync process with the handheld provides 3 functions.

1. The Customer, products and pricing tables are exported for the selected route

2. The handheld transactions are uploaded from the handheld

3. Allows the user to reinstall the program or setup a new handheld computer

 

Send the Customer Sales Details

The user can elect to send the customer sales details by ticking the box, in a mature system this will create a large file and may delay subsequent handheld sync operations. This should only be performed for the managers handheld.

Barcode Scanning 

This will change the sort order of the products to suit barcode scanning, the order the products are displayed will be changed. Do not use this option if you require your users to select the products manually

 

The user is required to select a route before the Sync process will begin. This ensures that the correct data is loaded onto the handheld computer and the processing speed is optimised.

 

When you select proceed you will be advised to compact the data periodically to reduce the database size. Click Ok on this screen and the following screen will be displayed

 

 

The screen is now awaiting for the Hot Sync operation to commence. Press the Hot Sync button on the Handset cradle.

 

As each of the listed operations are completed the check box will be ticked. When the operation is complete the windows will close. However do not remove the handheld from the cradle until the backup operation is complete. If you have sound enabled the device will play the completed signal.

Any data which was on the handheld has now been loaded into MASC and the new empty data files loaded onto the handheld.

If you have selected the incorrect route simply reselect the dat export option , select the correct route and proceed as normal. As the handheld contains no data no duplication will occur and the handheld will now contain the correct customers, products and prices.
